Peter is Nebosh qualified to Certificate level and has managed the Health & Safety for offices and warehouses for 12 years (alongside his HR responsibilities). For low risk environments such as these he will be able to support you to set up or review your Health & Safety processes, whether that is through risk assessments, fire safety, PUWER requirements or simply a trained eye to walk through the work environment and give views and suggestions.

Payroll

Peter managed the payroll for an SME for 9 years through Sage Payroll and can support this where needed.

About Peter Appleby

A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Peter has extensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of HR, having worked in permanent senior HR roles at large organisations in the Finance, Wholesale and Retail sectors. Peter also spent 9 years as a member of the senior management team at a hugely successful Electronic Office Supplies SME (where he managed payroll and Health & Safety in addition to HR) until it was taken over by a FTSE100 organisation due to its phenomenal success.

During his 20 years in senior HR management Peter has gained comprehensive experience of all aspects of HR, but has specialised in employment law which enabled him to successfully manage employment relations issues such as difficult exits, contractual disputes and largescale redundancy programmes / reorganisations. Peter also has a passion for, and experience of managing diversity for organisations and also working on an organisation’s Gender Pay Gap.

Prior to his HR roles Peter’s early career in a bank saw him excel at sales, which led to successful roles as Branch Manager and Independent Financial Adviser. He was then appointed to train financial advisers in sales techniques and product knowledge and then he moved in to management development before being appointed as a senior HR manager.

186hr donates 10% of all fees to the following 3 charities, Queenscourt Hospice, World Wildlife Fund, The Ocean Cleanup, or a charity of your choice.
